I’m sure y’all have noticed the sudden change in the way things look. I always like to tell you the why behind any big changes I make. For this one it was pretty simple, I felt as though I had settled for something I didn’t really want before. I had an idea of how I wanted this blog to look and feel and I don’t think I was heading in that direction previously.

The truth was I saw these colors a while ago and really wanted to use them but convinced myself that I couldn’t. I have no idea why, for some reason I kept thinking that this site had to be dark. So I just settled for what I didn’t really want. I’m not sure why I settled other than I had in my head that I needed to. I know that is not how it works when it is my own blog but there you go. I read all of these articles about what you needed to have on your blog, what your readers wanted to see. I got so lost in those that I forgot to consider myself in there at all.

The colors I loved and finally decided I was going to use are the ones you see above. I knew the dark blue would work for the darker color that I wanted and then the blush and peach and all the color others blended well together. Although I admit I found this color scheme on Pinterest. I saw a year or so ago and just loved it. However, I wasn’t sure it would work for me at either blog. So it just sat in my saved board. Calling to me over and over again. Finally I decided I was going to go for it.
That left me with the look and feel of the blog. I knew that something needed to be adjusted. I wanted my favorite book quotes to be higher and that slider was driving me up a wall. Luckily, the theme I’m using has three different layouts. So I played with those a bit and got what you now see. I am still adjusting a few of the background images but for the most part I am happy with the way things look now.
I kept things simple with the logo and couldn’t be happier. Whatever seemed to be missing before is there now. Of course, I am still going through and updating posts. I am making sure images are there, links are correct, etc. It is a huge undertaking but in another month or so you won’t see any issues. I work a little on it each day if possible. I hope that y’all are loving everything as much as I am.

Hello! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My site looks weird when browsing from my iphone4. I’m trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to fix this problem. If you have any recommendations, please share. Cheers!
My theme is designed for mobile. My suggestion would be to get a Responsive theme if at all possible. They will adjust no matter what you are viewing on, i.e. desktop, mobile, etc.
