Seventy shades of messed up.
That was what she’d been told about herself for nearly her entire life.
From a young age, she knew what it was like to be hated. To be loathed so much by a person that they literally resented the air you breathed.
For her entire childhood, she fought to live, despite her father’s constant effort to make her life a living hell.
Her sisters and brother have no clue what kind of closet psychopath their father really was, and she’ll die before she ruins their picture-perfect view of him. Why? Because she’s already broken. There’s no fixing this kind of damaged. But there’s no reason everyone else needs to suffer, too.

From the moment Hannibal Peters laid eyes on Hades Singh, he knew she was the one.
That was why he ran. That was why, when he saw her suffering, he couldn’t stay away.

I have come to find that the Singh family doesn’t always treat one another very nicely. They all have issues on some level. Although in the previous book Hades’ issues seemed unnatural. Now with this book we find out all sorts of things about her including what made her the way she is.
I must say that after this book I am really glad their father is dead because he was a horrid man. The way he treated his children, especially Hades, was enough for me to wish him dead. I hated the way the family treated Hades and felt like they should have tried harder but on another level I can understand it.
Hannibal was pretty awesome and I loved his feelings towards Hades. From the get go he knew she was his one, he just was trying to do right by his friend. Not to mention the age difference. However, when she came to him needing his help he was the first person in her entire life to give it to her without question. He is the one person who simply cares.
This book redeemed Hades in a big way and made me see her in a new light. Although I will admit that I am a little nervous about the next few books because this family is dysfunctional in a big way. I can only imagine how it is going to be for the rest of the siblings.
