Review
Shine is Haggard’s brother and let me tell you I loved Haggard but Shine certainly takes second place there. I LOVED the way he and Iris met. Let me tell you there couldn’t have been a funnier meeting ever. I wish I could share with y’all because I know that y’all would laugh as well.
Honestly there was just so much that I enjoyed about this book. Shine (Callum is his real name) is of course a member of the Battle Crows Mc but he also owns a landscaping business and a tree farm. Can I just say that Lani Lynn Vale certainly made that tree farm very interesting? Again, I loved the farm.
Iris was just so cute and wonderful. She was a ray of sunshine throughout the whole book. I will say that as an invisible child myself I understood so well. I grew up with a sister who was ill which meant I was overlooked a lot because she needed more attention than I did.
While, I don’t begrudge her any of that I will say, like Iris, it is tough being the overlooked child. That was written beautifully into the story and I loved that Shine didn’t let her get overlooked. He always seemed to sense when something was wrong with Iris and was just there. Both of their exes left a lot to be desired and I hated them. Although Lindy did redeem herself a bit by the end.
We did get a bit of Bram and Dorcas’ story here and I can’t wait for their book. I think I am glad though they are the last book in the series because I feel like there is so much missing from their story and it needs more time to brew. next up is Price and if the preview at the end of this book is anything to go by it is going to be amazing!
Family Connections
Hero’s Family: Sister, Cannel from Chalk Dirty to Me Brothers who are members of the Battle Crows MC as is his parents, Derringer and Reedy. The brother’s books are all a part of this series. Many of whom are listed in the previously section.
Heroine’s Family: Iris has a sister Abby and a brother Anderson. I would love to know more about Anderson but him and his wife are side characters. He just seemed so great.
I ran across the parking lot, ignoring the roaring of my name and the pounding of feet behind me, and all but threw myself onto the back of Thoralike’s bike. The man that’d told the most epic story ever froze, looked behind him, and saw who it was on the back of his bike. I completely expected him to throw me off of it. He didn’t. He started the bike up with a roar, kicked it into gear, and set off at such a fast pace through the parking lot that I squealed.
