Make Me by Lani Lynn Vale
Series: KPD Motorcycle Patrol #4
Genres: Romantic Suspense
Royal St. James got her name when she was born. Not because her mother loved her royally, but because Royal was a giant pain in the ass. She’s spent her entire life fighting to live, and the last thing she needs is to deal with some pretty-boy police officer who wouldn’t know a hardship if it came up and bit him in the…you know.
Justice Rector wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He was raised to work hard and always fight for what he believed in. His father was a cop, and ever since he could remember, he wanted to be one, too.
It was a complete coincidence that he ends up going undercover and meeting Royal St. James. It was just one day, a single moment in time. All routine.
Just do the buy, make the bust, and get out.
But Royal St. James, aptly named, screws everything up. Royally.
All of a sudden, he has a decision to make: blow his cover and save the girl, or save himself.
Of course, he does the most stupid thing possible.
By saving the girl who most assuredly did not want to be saved.
I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Justice is the son of Loki from The Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC series. If you read that series then you know that he inherited asthma from his mother and I must tell you that I am thrilled this was included now that he is an adult. Of course that is just one small tip of the iceberg in this book. Justice was very much his father’s son. He meets Royal on one of the worst days in her life. Not that there have been many good ones. Justice is forced to make a decision that could cause everyone problems. Does he save the girl and blow his cover or not.
There is so much to love in this book. Royal is the kind of woman that you want to be friends with. The kind who has fought for everything in her life and is still fighting. She is the chick you want in your corner. She loves her brother and while she wants more from life doesn’t expect it to come easily. Her father leaves so much to be desired. I hated him and trust me when I tell you that you will as well.
Her brother is great and I loved the lunch conversation between him and Justice. You have to read the book to find out what I’m talking about. It is one of those conversions that could only take place between two guys. One that I think was important for the both of them. It bonded them in a way that I think made both of them better characters.
Justice, as I said, is his father’s son. I loved Loki as a character and loved getting to see him again. While I did see a lot of both him and Channing (his mother) in Justice I loved that he was his own person as well. He wasn’t looking to follow in his father’s footsteps completely but to be himself.

It sounds like a good book but the character names are odd. Justice for a cop seems cliche. I do like the description though and would likely read it.

This book sounds like a great read, I love a good story with a cop in it for some reason it just makes thinks a little more fun!

I’m intrigued but I’d have to read the previous books first, I think.

Since you mentioned Loki, this makes me think of the Norse gods and Thor. Is that the same story line?

The cover model’s posture and body language are about as perfect for this book (and title) as possible. Love it!
