It Wasn't Me by Lani Lynn Vale
Series: KPD Motorcycle Patrol #2
Genres: Romantic Suspense
Piper Mackenzie first sees him shirtless, standing in front of the military plane she was about to board, with one rather large wrench in his hand. The fact that he has the plane—the one that she’s about to be flying on for hours—in pieces only minutes before she’s set to take off on it doesn’t faze her. At least not until a flippant joke about dying in mid-air leaves his lips.
The second time she sees him, he’s helping her from the wreckage of her car. The wreckage that he helped cause.
The third, he’s laying across from her in the same bed, and there’s no denying what happened the night before.
The fourth, well that time would be the first of many. Being Mrs. Jonah Crew has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
*****
Jonah Crew saw her for the first time as she stared at him in awe. It was snowing, the temp was in the negative degrees, and he couldn’t think about anything but her and the look of horror on her face when he tells a badly-timed joke.
The second time he sees her, his heart skips a beat, but not for the reason that one might think. Mainly, it’s due in part to the fact that his truck smashed into her car so hard that his chest hits the steering wheel and his heart decides to stop working right.
The third time, he’s fairly positive that he’s died and gone to heaven. At least, that’s what waking up next to a beautiful woman like her signifies, right?
The fourth? Well, he’s not quite sure how he got there, but he’s already said ‘I do’ so what’s a guy to do?
I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
We finally get Piper Mackenzie’s story! She is the last daughter of Sam’s to find love. I must say thought that Sam took her finding love better than the others. Maybe because he had to go through the other two first. I will say that I expected Silas to flip his lid a little although maybe that is something that Lani Lynn Vale is waiting on for when his youngest daughter finds love.
Piper first meets Jonah Crew (Downy’s younger brother) when she is boarding a plane to leave Germany. They end up sitting together and he helps her get through her fear of flying. They also discover they are from the same town. Then a series of events keeps putting them together.
They wake up together and married and I mean what in the world are you going to do? Stay together of course and try to figure out how to make it work. There is so much to love about this book. I loved the intruder! You can got to read it to know what I am talking about but talk about ripped from the headlines!
I also loved the crazy person in this one. So many things are going on in this book that don’t have any sort of explanation. Accidents, someone wants to spend a fortune on land not even worth half of that, and more. None of it makes sense until you meet the crazy person. I don’t want to give away if it a woman or man because I think it would take to much away. There reasoning behind everything is the stuff legends get written about.
