I know that it seems like I haven’t been writing over here very much lately. In fact, today is probably the most I have done here. The thing is, things have been more than a little bit crazy and I am still working hard at attempting to catch up. Who knew so much could go wrong in such a short amount of time? That is neither here nor there. I thought I would like to let y’all know that I am in fact alive and well. Plus, I’ll give you some updates on things happening here at Storied Conversation and what you can expect.
First, I decided that I would not do the Author of the Month for February. Don’t worry, I simply moved her to May and will have two in that month so that I can highlight all the events planned for the year. I felt this was the best way to get everything caught up and not feel as though I was drowning in things. The reason I selected may be because my calendar is a little slower that month and running a giveaway for each author is much more practicable.
Newsletters
Next, the newsletter did go out last week. There are about 100 people signed up for it as of the moment I hit send. It is not the same as the Rita Reviews newsletter. If you aren’t sure if you signed up, please either email me or enter your information into the sign up (over to the right) and it will let you know. If you did sign up but did not receive the newsletter, please email me. I will need the email address that you signed up with so I can verify that you signed up and got it. If you signed up after the day it was sent, I will send it to you for this month. Please do not message me on social media, as my assistant checks those and I need to be the one searching for your missing newsletter. This will help me keep up with how often people don’t get it, etc.
I am planning on doing a large welcome sort of giveaway here. I am hoping to have it up this week. I had hoped to have it done today, but I need to catch up on a few other things. I noticed a page wasn’t working, and I have several book reviews that will be coming today, tomorrow, and Friday. Another thing I had planned on doing here was some sort of small giveaway every Friday. I have not yet been able to start those, and it is possible that I will this week. If not, I will just put them off until next month and start them off right.
It’s funny because when I was taking my time getting everything done here, I felt like I had all the time in the world. Everything went wrong; the other blog had a meltdown, my timeline changed, and I feel as though there aren’t enough hours in the day to breath, let alone get everything done. I am taking it one day at a time, though, and working my way through it all. I have some plans for May that involve taking time off to sit down and finish my million half-done thoughts and projects for both blogs.
I know May seems like a long time off, but I have a trip planned then, and my plan is to just stop and get things done. Both in my personal life and my business life. I can’t function properly with so much up in the air and working to catch up all the time. When you are someone else’s caregiver as well as have your own illness, it takes a lot out of you. It takes more than you realize. The truth is, I had so many appointments with my mom and uncle that I allowed my own health to slip, which is something I can’t afford. I can’t care for them if I’m not doing better.
For those who don’t know, I have congestive heart failure and am in stage one. That means they caught it early and can hopefully reverse it or control it. It also means that I have a five-year life expectancy from the day they told me. They were found in July of last year. It doesn’t mean I will die in five years. However, they can’t promise more than that. Not without me doing my part to get healthier and taking better care of myself.
So that’s my updates for now. Watch out for everything coming over the next few days.

I’m sorry that you are busy and stretched a million directions. Trust me I know the feeling! I hope you get all caught up, some me time and wish you the best health!

Sometimes life comes all at once. I remember a crazy time some years ago when I looked up at the sky and said “so when do the locust arrive?”. Be kind to yourself – one day at a time.
And by the way, I know every patient is different, but my ex has congestive heart failure (more advanced than yours when diagnosed) and it’s over 7 years now and he’s doing great. Sending you warmest wishes and healing thoughts.

I had no idea about your heart condition. I am so very sorry and I will keep you in my prayers. Thank you or sharing your personal information that took a lot of guts and don’t worry this month has been crazy for me too. The most important thing is that we enjoy every single day and spend it with people we love and also pets we love. God Bless.
