Review
Inseparable from childhood, Sorcha and Ruaidhri seemed destined for a life together, but a devastating betrayal tore them apart, leaving each to believe the other was responsible for their separation. Now, eight years later, they meet again as adversaries. Sorcha, now the chief of the Suibhne Clan, has fought to keep her clan together amid loss and hardship. With the threat of the Anglo-Norman Lord Robert DeBrunville—set on conquering her people—looming, Sorcha discovers that Ruaidhri, the only man she ever loved, has been hired by DeBrunville himself. She isn’t prepared to face Ruaidhri, especially while hiding a secret that could change everything.
After being cast out and sold to mercenaries by Sorcha’s father, Ruaidhri became a feared warrior, hardening his heart when he heard Sorcha had remarried. When hired to aid Lord Robert in subduing the Irish clans, he didn’t expect to face his past—specifically, Sorcha’s clan. Though he’s determined to broker peace, seeing Sorcha rekindles a love he thought he’d lost. But with Lord Robert’s plans and unresolved questions, their future remains uncertain.
This is an incredible second-chance romance packed with betrayal, secrets, heartbreak, and redemption. Sorcha and Ruaidhri’s love story takes center stage, even with the intense drama unfolding around them. With unexpected twists, heartfelt reconciliations, steamy moments, and a sweet epilogue, this book is sure to captivate medieval romance fans. While this is part of a duet series, I recommend starting with this book for a deeper understanding of Ruaidhri’s character. Highly recommended!
